Autumn news

Peeking out from under the covers

Hello friends !

I’m drafting this edition on the back of my motorcycle, enjoying the early sunset light and the chill autumn air.

You may have noticed it’s been a while since the last newsletter. I had to put a pause on work and most of my projects in order to recover from burnout, and while there’s still some ways to go, I’m feeling better!

During this break, I’ve been focusing on healing, recovering a sense of safety and peace, unearthing some buried parts of myself in the process.

I’ve been drawing more and more again, writing new stories, and I now have enough energy to share some of that with you !

Burnout & Healing

I’ve been doing a bunch of exploration, including trying new materials and expressing my feelings in my art.

My proudest piece thus far is this next one, which captures how burning out felt - like drowning in a glass of water, while the tunnel vision effect distorts everything and odd details stand out, like a conversation about mandarins.

Studies & Experiments

Trying out new things to have fun and doing studies to get back in drawing shape.

Some lizards studies for a game project with my partner.

Trying out different ways to study from a reference image, a basic pencil study to start on the right side, then a more creative one on the left !

What else ?

  • I’ve recently finished some work for the lovely people of Simply Sweet Games! You can check out their project and sign up for their closed Alpha here 😄

  • Lots of writing!

What’s next ?

I’m tinkering with ideas to develop more ways to generate income from my art and become an independent artist ! I will have more to share on that in the next edition, but in the meantime, if you’d like to support my art, here are some options:

  • Share this newsletter around with your friends !

  • Buy me a coffee ☕️

  • Grab some stickers and other fun merch over on Redbubble ~ I have more art to upload there soon.

Inspirations

I hope you liked this new edition ! I won’t return to monthly publications just yet to keep the pressure off, but I hope to have more works to share soon.

I wish you a great Fall if you’re in the northern hemisphere, and as usual, feel free to hit reply :)

See you next month time,
Chloé
